CD Package Design: Poster

Below is my first design:

After critique on 12.3, students suggested incorporating the rabbit into the poster to feel more cohesive with the album, which I agree. I did the poster first before I did the album and actually had the rabbit-people in it but I thought at the time it didn't match and I didn't want too many design elements fighting with each other. The album name is supposed to be the dominant element.

P*S* I am entirely clothed. The original picture shows this ugly antique bathtub sitting outside of someone's home. My roommate dared me to sit in the tub while in broad daylight and in front of the porch window.

Screen print gig tutorial

I guess I love gigs. I put the rabbit head on top of my body to be silly- that part was completely me and I followed all the steps up to that point. Then I only had about 15 minutes of class left so instead of creating the flames from scratch and waiting another day to complete it, I just copied & pasted the flames and text. I do want to learn how to make that font super cool and ripped but for right now, it's a silly collage.

People preferred seeing the original image of the black woman in a bathing suit. The brand was supposed to be about furnishings, obviously by the tagline. Now that I think about it, I think it looks better too.

Tutorial #7 Gig Poster Design

Oh my lord, this tutorial took me about 2 1/2 hours to complete, however, the end result was AMAZING!! I learned how to combine shapes and patterns, join text sort of, make live trace layers, mess with the opacity for layers (which I played w/in PS3 but not AI), etc etc!!!!
